Chemical Peels

One of the main factors influencing skin health is the speed at which our skin turns over or renews itself. As we age, this process slows down and the translucency and radiance of youthful skin disappears. To encourage the return of healthy, youthful skin we suggest incorporating a chemical peel into your skin care regimen.

We offer several different peels ranging from light to deeper acids. These peels can treat acne, sun damage, scarring and fine lines. In your initial consultation, the medical aesthetician will help you decide which peel is best for you.

Any patient getting a chemical peel in our office is asked not to exfoliate or use prescription topical creams on the face for 72 hours before the treatment. Men are asked not to shave the facial area on the day of the treatment. Following a chemical peel of any kind, the skin will be more ‘sun sensitive’ and it is advised to protect your skin from the sun.

Glycolic Acid Peel

Glycolic acid is part of the alpha hydroxyl family. Derived from sugar cane, it is considered a natural product. When applied to the skin it exfoliates, leaving smoother, glowing skin. Our glycolic peels range from 30-70%. These are most effective when done in a series. There are many benefits to this peel, including helping reduce the appearance of sun damage, dull or sullen skin, fine lines, mild textural scarring, melasma and other hyperpigmentation. There is often little to no downtime as this is considered a superficial peel.

Salicylic Acid Peel

Salicylic acid is part of the beta hydroxyl family and it is also a natural product. It is often used for the prevention and treatment of acne. Our salicylic peels range from 20-30%. There is often little to no downtime as this is also a superficial peel.

Vi Peel

Anyone looking to improve skin tone, reduce blemishes, reduce pigmentation or fine lines may be a good candidate for the Vi Peel. This peel is stronger than glycolic or salicylic peels, and contains a synergistic blend of powerful and effective ingredients suitable for all skin types. Expect several days of peeling and positive changes in the skin will be noticeable just a few days later. This peel is recommended to be done 3 or 4 times a year to reverse and prevent the signs of aging.
